Special-Status Amphibians – Foothill Yellow-legged Frog Surveys Study
Field Reconnaissance and Site Selection Collaboration Meeting
 
As YCWA advised Relicensing Participants at a recent meeting, based on the general concurrence of Relicensing Participants, YCWA is beginning the Special-Status Amphibians - Foothill Yellow-legged Frog Surveys (Study 3.4) at its own risk in advance of FERC’s Study Determination.  Note that YCWA reserves its right to stop the study at any time without prior notification to Relicensing Participants, though if YCWA does, it will make an effort to advise Relicensing Participants and the reason it stopped the study.
 
YCWA is commencing the site selection process.  On February 23, YCWA requested that interested Relicensing Participants RSVP with their availability in coming into the field during field reconnaissance at specific locations to assess on-site habitat conditions for foothill yellow-legged frog (FYLF) and available dates for a meeting to collaborate regarding survey site locations.  Based on input received, field reconnaissance has been scheduled for March 23 and 24.  The agenda during the field reconnaissance will include a brief discussion of considerations and procedures for situating temperature loggers in stream margins after FYLF breeding is documented, as provided for in Water Temperature Modeling (Study 2.5).  The collaboration meeting has been scheduled for April 4, the only date when key participants could attend.
 
Licensee will provide advance notice to Relicensing Participants of starting times and meeting locations for the field reconnaissance and collaboration meeting.  A summary of the information regarding site suitability (Site Selection Information Package) will be provided to the Relicensing Participants at least one week in advance of the collaboration meeting.
